DES MOINES, Iowa – The third annual Drake Hoops Fest presented by DMOS Orthopaedic Centers will take place Thursday, Oct. 5 at a new location, the Brenton Skating Plaza in the East Village. The event will be a celebration of the Drake men’s and women’s basketball Missouri Valley Conference titles as well as a kick off to fall sports family weekend.

DMOS will be the first-ever presenting sponsor of Hoops Fest and a concert has been added to the Hoops Fest lineup. The B2Wins will be live in concert at approximately 7 p.m. following the activities on the court.

Pronounced B-Twins, the high-energy entertainment group continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its unique renditions of crowd favorites and engaging, uplifting live show that targets the masses. Led by charismatic Twin brothers from Brazil, they combine a plethora of genres into a feel-good performance that is equal parts rock concert, dance party, jam session and vacation for the soul.

A Youth Clinic will once again begin Drake Hoops Fest from 5-6 p.m. with the programming starting shortly after 6 p.m. Registration for the Youth Clinic can be found here: https://admin.godrakebulldogs.com/sb_output.aspx?form=1053

In addition to previewing the basketball seasons and getting to see the MVC Championship trophies up close, several Drake fall sports teams will make appearances along with the Drake band, cheer squad, dance team, and Griff II.

Inflatables, a photo booth and much more will be set up for kids. A DJ will put a soundtrack to the action on the court. There will be ticket specials, giveaways as well as beer and food trucks for fans to partake in.

Musco Lighting will light up the court that the Drake basketball teams will use provided by Midwest Sport Construction. Bud Light, Vibrant Credit Union and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are also proud to support this event.

After the B2Wins concert, Drake Hoops Fest will conclude at 8 p.m., but it’s just the beginning of a huge sports weekend on the Drake campus. Drake football hosts Valparaiso on Family Day Oct. 7 in a game presented by Broadlawns Medical Center. Drake men’s soccer will take on Northern Illinois on Oct. 7 at Cownie Soccer Complex while Bulldog women’s soccer welcomes Valparaiso to Drake Stadium on Oct. 8.
