Biography
J.D. Pumphrey is a certified hand therapist originally from Princeton, IA. He graduated from St. Ambrose University with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness and then went on to receive his Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Allen College. Having worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings across the country, J.D. comes to DMOS with experience in treating patients of all ages with various upper extremity conditions.
J.D. is committed to providing patient centered care by directing treatments toward each patient's needs and formulating a plan that targets their main concerns and goals. Engaging his patients in their therapy through providing education and knowledge is at the forefront of his treatment philosophy. He has a special interest in treating sports injuries and has experience with many different treatment modalities and techniques, including cupping, strapping, joint mobilizations and more.
Outside of DMOS, J.D. enjoys hiking, playing pickleball and softball, fishing, car mechanics, house remodeling, working out and cheering on Iowa sports. He is also an avid traveler–his favorite places to visit are destinations with a beach or mountains!
