Biography
Dr. Khushdeep Vig is a board-eligible orthopedic trauma surgeon who joined DMOS in September 2024. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, he completed his medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. He then completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, and his Orthopaedic Traumatology Fellowship at University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.
Throughout his training, he completed over 2,000 cases and is excited to bring his expertise to the greater Iowa region. He specializes in a number of procedures, including direct anterior total hip arthroplasty for fracture and arthritis, complex malunion nonunion repair, deformity correction, complex pelvis and acetabular surgery, and fracture surgery.
When it comes to his practice, Dr. Vig’s philosophy revolves around providing the same level of care and compassion that he would give to his own family. His goal is to encourage function living for his patients while preventing further debilitation. He credits his global training experiences with teaching him how to treat patients holistically in the face of adversity and health challenges.
Outside of DMOS, Dr. Vig enjoys hunting, fishing, going to the gym and spending time with his wife. He is an avid traveler and has lived and worked in destinations such as India, Thailand, Ireland, Morocco, Hawaii, Spain, Cambodia and Vietnam.
